Your Secret Code is a personal key that protects your online purchases, adding an extra layer of security to your Bit2Me Card. Its creation and use are a fundamental step to comply with the European Payment Services Directive (PSD2), which requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) to increase security and prevent fraud in all digital operations.

How to activate Push notifications for Card?
In addition to SMS from Pecunia, you can now receive your verification codes via Push notifications: the 6-digit code appears directly on your screen, without relying on your carrier. This is especially useful if you are abroad and cannot receive SMS messages.
Log in to your Bit2Me account and go to the Card section. You will see a notification saying "Activate notifications to view your CVV and validate purchases".
Tap on the notification to display the button Activate notifications for Card.
Tap the button. You will receive an SMS from Pecunia with a 6-digit code; enter it on screen to confirm activation.
Done! From now on, whenever you need to view your CVV or validate a purchase, the 6-digit code will appear directly as a Push notification on your screen, instead of arriving via SMS.
- If you do not activate Push notifications, you will continue to receive your verification code via SMS from Pecunia, as before.
How to set up your secret code?
After requesting your first Bit2Me Card (physical or virtual), to set your secret code, simply follow these instructions from the app or website:
Log in to your Bit2Me account and go to the Card section.
Tap the button Set up secret code that you will see on the main screen of your cards section.
You will receive an SMS with a 6-digit code sent by Pecunia, our card provider (or, if you have Push notifications activated, the code will appear directly on screen). Enter this code to continue.
On the next screen, re-enter your phone number to verify your identity.
Create your personalized secret code. Remember that it must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 8 characters.
- At least one uppercase letter.
- At least one lowercase letter.
- At least one number.
You will receive a notification on screen confirming if the process has been completed successfully. If an error occurs, you must repeat the previous steps.
How does the secret code work?
The Secret Code is your digital signature for online purchases. It works as a dual validation system to ensure that only you can authorize payments:
OTP Code: when making an online purchase, you will first receive a 6-digit OTP (one-time password) code, either via SMS or a Push notification on screen if you have it activated.
Your Secret Code: then, the payment gateway will ask you to enter your personal Secret Code (the one you created in the previous step) to validate and complete the purchase.
How to modify your secret code?
If you wish to change your secret code for any reason, you can easily do so from the app or website:
Log in to your Bit2Me account and go to the Card section.
Click on the button Options.
Select the option Modify secret code.
You will receive an SMS with a 6-digit code sent by Pecunia, our card provider (or, if you have Push notifications activated, the code will appear directly on screen). Enter this code and tap Accept.
On the new screen, enter your new secret code twice to confirm it and click Accept.
Once modified, the message Secret code successfully modified will appear in green.
