How to set Android NFC to pay with Bit2Me Card from your mobile phone?

Modified on Mon, 4 Aug at 3:18 PM

Configuring your Android device to pay in any store by bringing your mobile phone close to the POS terminal is simple. Thanks to NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, you can link your Bit2Me Card to your Android device and pay in any store that accepts contactless payments quickly and securely.

Below, we guide you through the steps to follow:

Add your Bit2Me Card to a Payment App

Before you can configure NFC in your phone's settings, you must first register your Bit2Me Card in an application that manages mobile payments. The most common one on Android is Google Wallet.

  1. Download and install Google Wallet (or the payment app of your choice) from the Play Store.

  2. Open the application and follow the instructions to ‘Add a card’.

  3. Enter your Bit2Me Card details (the card number, expiration date, and CVV).

  4. Complete the verification process requested by the application.

Set the Default Payment App on Android

Once your Bit2Me Card is registered, the next step is to set your phone to use that application for all NFC payments.

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ of your Android device.

  2. Find and select the ‘NFC and contactless payments’ option (the name may vary slightly depending on your phone's brand, look for terms like "Connections", "NFC", or "Payments").

  3. Make sure the NFC switch is turned on.

  4. Within this menu, look for an option called ‘Contactless payments’, ‘Default payment app’, or similar.

  5. Select the application where you have added your card (e.g., Google Wallet) to set it as the default.

Important: The NFC antenna is usually located on the back and top of the phone. Most cases do not interfere, but if you have problems, try removing it. Remember to have a balance in the wallet linked to your Bit2Me Card for the payment in order to be processed correctly.
