What is a transaction Hash? How to find a transaction HASH?

Modified on Fri, 1 Aug at 10:48 AM

A hash is the result of a hash function, which is a cryptographic operation that generates unique and unrepeatable identifiers from a given piece of information. Hashes are a key part of blockchain technology and have a wide range of uses. In short, the hash or Txid is the identification code of a transaction on the blockchain. You will find all the information about the Hash and its operation in the following Bit2Me Academy article: What is a hash?

When you send cryptocurrencies, a hash is generated that will allow you to track the status of a transaction on the Blockchain until it reaches its destination address.

To access the hash / Txid of a blockchain send transaction that you have made from Bit2Me, you just have to click on the send that you see reflected in the activity history of the currency to see all the details of the transaction. To do this, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "activity history" section that you will find in the side drop-down menu if you access from the App. If you access from the web, go to the Wallet section and in the right column, access the "activity history".

  2. In the history, look for the send for which you want to check the hash / Txid. You can filter by date, currency or year to find the transaction more easily.

  3. Once you have located the blockchain send for which you want to know the Hash, click on the registered transaction to display the details of the operation.

  4. In the operation details view, you will find the hash / Txid that you can copy to share it or paste it into the explorer of the network through which you have made the send.

Some of the most used explorers to check the status of an operation on the most common networks are:
