According to an announcement by StablR Ltd., the Maltese entity that issues EURR and USDR, between May 23 and 24, 2026, an unauthorized third party gained access to part of its infrastructure and minted EURR and USDR outside of its authorized issuance process, with no backing funds paid for them. StablR suspended the issuance and redemption of both tokens and requested that platforms listing them halt all operations. In response to this request, on May 24, Bit2Me suspended the trading, deposits, and withdrawals of EURR and USDR. The incident occurred entirely within StablR's infrastructure, external to Bit2Me.

Your EURR and USDR remain registered in your name at Bit2Me. For the duration of the suspension, here is the current situation:

In its latest statement, dated August 25, StablR indicated that approximately 6.41 million EURR and 14.33 million USDR minted without authorization are in circulation, and that they are not backed by reserves. According to StablR, the EURR and USDR legitimately issued against payment remain backed by reserves held in segregated accounts, separate from its own company funds, and no further unauthorized minting has occurred since the incident. Issuance and redemption remain suspended while StablR works toward an orderly resumption under the supervision of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), with no set date announced yet. StablR has not yet explained how it will distinguish between authorized and unauthorized tokens for redemption purposes.

Resumption depends on StablR and its regulator, the MFSA. Once StablR resumes issuance and redemption, we will evaluate how to reactivate operations on Bit2Me under the conditions they establish, and we will notify you by email. We post every update on our status page.

Have I lost my money? Do my EURR and USDR still belong to me?

Your EURR and USDR remain in your Bit2Me account, registered in your name. None of the units under our custody have been lost or stolen. Their value and the redemption process depend directly on the issuer.

What is currently suspended is their use. As long as StablR keeps issuance and redemption on hold, you cannot sell, transfer, or redeem them. When and under what conditions you will be able to do so depends on StablR, which is working under MFSA supervision toward an orderly resumption and has not yet announced a timeline.

Why can't I sell, transfer, or withdraw my EURR or USDR?

Because StablR globally suspended issuance and redemption following the cybersecurity incident on May 23 and 24, and requested that all platforms suspend trading, deposits, and withdrawals. At Bit2Me, we implemented this request on May 24 itself, to prevent anyone from buying or selling at prices that do not reflect their redemption value. The suspension affects all centralized platforms listing these tokens.

When will operations be reactivated?

There is no confirmed date yet. Resumption is in the hands of StablR and its regulator, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), and StablR has not yet provided any timeframe. Once StablR resumes issuance and redemption, we will review how to reactivate operations on Bit2Me under the terms they set, and we will notify you by email.

Will I get €1 back for each EURR and $1 for each USDR?

Redemption at €1 per EURR and $1 per USDR is a right you hold against the issuer, StablR. This right is recognized under the European MiCA regulation for electronic money tokens (EMTs), such as EURR and USDR.

StablR has had redemptions suspended since May 24. According to its latest update, the EURR and USDR legitimately issued against payment remain backed by reserves held in segregated accounts; however, approximately 6.41 million EURR and 14.33 million USDR minted without authorization and lacking reserves are currently in circulation. StablR has not announced when or under what conditions it will resume redemptions, nor how it will distinguish legitimate tokens from unauthorized ones. We will inform you as soon as they provide details.

Will Bit2Me refund or compensate me? Who is liable?

The redemption of EURR and USDR at par value is the sole responsibility of the issuer, StablR, which is the entity that suspended it. Bit2Me is not the issuer and cannot redeem them on their behalf.

As a custodian, our role is to keep your units registered in your name, facilitate the exercise of your rights against StablR once redemptions are enabled, and issue an overall balance certificate if you need it.

What can I do in the meantime?

  • You do not need to take any action to preserve your balance.
  • You can download an overall balance certificate yourself showing your EURR and USDR balances. We explain how in How to download an overall balance certificate?
  • You can contact StablR directly at info@stablr.com or file a claim at complaints@stablr.com. StablR acknowledges receipt of claims within a maximum period of 14 days.
  • If you are dissatisfied with Bit2Me's actions and Support has not resolved the issue, you may file a complaint with our Customer Support Service (SAC) using the Complaint form. They will respond within a maximum of two months, and if you do not agree with the outcome or do not receive a response within that timeframe, you can escalate the matter to the CNMV Complaints Service. The procedure is explained in this article.

Can I exchange my EURR or USDR for euros, EURC, or USDC?

Not right now. The suspension applies to any conversion: selling for euros, swapping to another crypto asset, and redeeming directly with the issuer. Once operations are reactivated, we will provide instructions on how to proceed.

What happens to my EURR and USDR in Earn?

They remain in Earn, registered in your name, and you can move them to your Wallet whenever you want. However, you cannot add more EURR or USDR to Earn: as with other electronic money stablecoins (EMTs), Earn no longer accepts new deposits.

Once moved to your Wallet, you will still not be able to sell or transfer them while the suspension continues.

Why does the app show that value for my EURR or USDR? How much are they worth now?

The euro amount displayed in the app is a price reference. It is not an executable price at which you can sell, because trading is suspended on Bit2Me.

Since the incident, on external markets outside Bit2Me, EURR and USDR have been trading below their par value. Their redemption value depends on StablR resuming redemptions and the conditions they establish, so we cannot provide a definitive value at this time.

Can I send them to another wallet or exchange to sell them there?

No. Withdrawals of EURR and USDR from Bit2Me are suspended, as are deposits, in line with StablR's request to all platforms. Once operations are restored, we will inform you.

I have a crypto loan in EURR or USDR. What happens to it and the interest?

You can switch the currency of your crypto loan from EURR to EURC, or from USDR to USDC, under the exact same terms. The addendum is ready for signature in your document manager under Profile and documentation > Account documentation. Once signed, you will be able to manage your loan and pay interest in the new currency.

If you have any questions, contact support and we will be happy to help.

What exactly happened? Who is StablR?

StablR Ltd. is the Maltese entity that issues EURR and USDR, two electronic money tokens pegged to the euro and US dollar. It is authorized and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).

According to StablR, between May 23 and 24, 2026, an unauthorized third party accessed part of its infrastructure and minted EURR and USDR outside of its authorized issuance process, without backing funds being deposited. StablR suspended issuance and redemption globally and announced the incident on May 25. The incident occurred within StablR's infrastructure, external to Bit2Me.

How will I know when this is resolved? Where can I find official information?

We will contact you by email as soon as there are any updates regarding reactivation. In the meantime, you can track progress on our status page, which we update with every announcement from StablR. Official statements from the issuer are available at stablr.com/insights.

Can I request a redemption directly from StablR?

Not right now. StablR currently has redemptions suspended for all holders, including those who request it directly. When redemptions resume, they will provide instructions on how to proceed, and we will guide you on what steps to take with the EURR and USDR you hold on Bit2Me. StablR's general email is info@stablr.com, and their complaints inbox is complaints@stablr.com.

What happens if StablR never resumes redemptions? Will you delist EURR and USDR?

StablR is working with the MFSA toward an orderly resumption and has not announced any other scenario.

Your right to redeem EURR and USDR at par value lies directly with StablR. According to the issuer, the funds backing the tokens legitimately minted against payment are held in segregated accounts, separate from its own funds, as required by MiCA. Should StablR announce a different outcome, we will clearly explain what it means for you and what your options are.

There are no plans to delist EURR or USDR while the process remains open. If a decision to delist is made at any point, we will notify you well in advance.

Why can EURR be bought and sold on other platforms but not on Bit2Me?

StablR requested that all platforms suspend trading, deposits, and withdrawals of EURR and USDR, which Bit2Me applied on May 24. On certain decentralized exchanges, the tokens continue to trade, far below their par value.

Keeping trading open would expose our customers to buying or selling at prices that do not reflect their true redemption value. For this reason, operations will remain suspended on Bit2Me until StablR restores issuance and redemption.

Why weren't we notified before the suspension?

The incident occurred within StablR's infrastructure on May 23 and 24. Bit2Me suspended trading, deposits, and withdrawals on May 24 itself, as soon as StablR informed us of the incident and requested that platforms halt operations. The following day, once StablR published the news, we posted it on our status page and emailed all customers holding EURR or USDR.

Does this affect my other crypto assets or Bit2Me's security?

No. The incident occurred within StablR's infrastructure, completely outside Bit2Me. All other crypto assets and Bit2Me services continue to operate normally.

How do I report my EURR and USDR for taxes? What value will appear on my tax report?

Bit2Me does not provide tax advice, so we recommend consulting your tax advisor. As long as your EURR or USDR remain in your account without being sold or redeemed, your tax report will not reflect any sale for them.

I had EURR or USDR linked to my Bit2Me Card. What happened?

On May 25, we unlinked EURR and USDR from cards that had them set as their payment pocket. Your card remains active. Open Bit2Me Card in the app and link another pocket to continue making purchases. If you have questions about any payments made around those dates, contact support.
