PIN code: security access

Modified on Thu, 25 Jun at 8:05 PM

Your security PIN is a 6-digit code that protects your Bit2Me account. For security reasons, your session will automatically close after 5 minutes of inactivity, and you'll be prompted to enter your PIN to continue. Additionally, your PIN is unique and shared between the app and the web: once created on either platform, it syncs automatically. Below, we'll explain how to create it for the first time, how to renew it, and what to do if you forget it.

1. Create your PIN for the first time

If you haven't set up a PIN yet, Bit2Me will automatically display a "Security Update" screen when you log in. Follow the steps that correspond to your device.

  • From the web or mobile app

When accessing your account, the message "Security Update" will appear, indicating that you need to create a PIN. Tap "Set up PIN" to open the Access Key panel.

  1. In the Create your PIN field, enter a 6-digit code.
  2. Tap "Continue".
  1. On the Confirm your PIN screen, repeat the same code in the Repeat PIN field.
  2. Tap "Continue" to save the PIN and access the home screen.
If the two codes do not match, the message "The entered PIN does not match. Please try again" will appear, and the field will automatically clear. Tap "Go back and create another PIN" to start again.

2. Renew your PIN

If you already have a PIN set up and wish to change it, you can do so from your account settings. The process is the same for both the web and mobile app.

  • From the web or mobile app

  1. Access your profile and go to "Profile and Settings".
  2. In the "Security" section, tap on "Security PIN".

  1. A warning will appear: "You are about to create a new PIN. Your session will be closed, and you will return to the login screen; once you log in, you will create the new PIN." Tap "Continue".

  1. Your session will close automatically. When you log in again, follow the steps in the section Create your PIN for the first time.
Upon confirming the PIN change, your session will close immediately. Please ensure you have no pending operations before proceeding.

3. I forgot my PIN

If you don't remember your PIN when the app or web prompts you for it, you can reset it by logging out and creating a new one. The process is the same for both the web and mobile app:

  1. On the PIN entry screen, tap the option to log out and create a new PIN.
  2. Your session will be closed, and you will be redirected to the login screen.
  3. Log in with your username and password. If you have 2FA enabled, also enter the code.
  4. Follow the PIN creation process detailed in the section Create your PIN for the first time.
Once you have created the new PIN, it will automatically sync between the web and the app.

4. My fingerprint no longer works in the app

If you accessed Bit2Me from the web and created a PIN different from the one you had configured in the app, biometric access (fingerprint) may stop working. This happens because the app and the web share the same PIN in the system, and updating it from the web invalidates the previous PIN.

To fix this, manually enter the same PIN you recently created on the web into the app. Once verified, biometric access will resume working normally.

If you don't remember which PIN you entered on the web, follow the steps in the section I forgot my PIN to reset it.
